Scarfs
Yes, the clothing item—I told you I will write about random things. I was never a fan of scarfs, they seemed like an unnecessary accessory that only people who cared what they wore, wear.
Naturally they never appealed to me since, my clothing never matches and the only thing I wear religiously is my Padre hat. But, then today happened.
My view of scarves has gone from that of something I will never wear pending a blizzard on the West Coast to an accessory that might be used when its cold.
It all started this morning when I woke from a shortened slumber to go to math class, it was 40 degrees (a freezing morning in California standards), I was short on sleep (read, really grumpy), and I was faced with a 50 minute drive to class in a 16 year old truck that’s heater takes it sweet time to heat up.
All of this culminates with me trying to find as much warm clothing as possible. I threw on my usual assortment of random clothing chosen at random from my dresser. Pulled out my beanie, then decided I wanted to wage the cold weather with a full assault of as many layers as possible I dug out the only scarf I own which, in an unrelated note my mother made for me.
So I decided I would give the scarf a go, who know I might look at least a little trendy.
Turns out, scarfs are awesome! No joke.
Seriously. I’m a big fan of scarves. Not only are they trendy, they make you look more sophisticated, and most importantly they are functional!
My neck was nice and warm and by extension it kept more heat in my jacket.
So, in review, scarfs are cool looking, functional and can make the same thing I wear everyday look different. I hate fashion, but, I am a fan of scarves.
(But please, none for Christmas. I have one, which is enough.)
