Random Thoughts: Oliver Wood announces his transfer to the Fitchburg Finches.
Oliver Wood announced today he is going to transfer from the Puddlemere United reserve team to the American squad Fitchburg Finches.
In the press conference Wood said he was, “going to take his talents to America.”
Wood joins an American squad that has historically had trouble keeping up with the British clubs.
After graduating from Hogwarts (Gryffindor), where he played Keeper and was the captain during his tenure, Wood was drafted by Puddlemere and was placed on the reserve squad.
He spent the last few years there developing his skills and seeing limited game time.
After his contract expired, and Puddlemere announced the contract extension of their starting Keeper, Wood felt it was time to move on.
“I want to thank Puddlemere for everything they have done for me,” Wood said. “But transferring to Fitchburg will give me the best chance to succeed and play for a championship.”
Fitchburg has struggled the past few years, and their Keeper has been suspect.
Acquiring Wood will help the Finches rebuild under a new owner.
“He will be a key part in our long term success on the pitch,” the owner said. “We look forward to having him represent our team for years to come.”
The transfer will be official once the league offices approves the transfer sum, which according to sources, will happen any day.
