Sportswriters and sports fans alike love lists, they are subjective and are fun to make and you can quantify over a 100 years of history into a list of 10. Their is nothing you can’t make a top 10 list for, though at the Padres game the other day my friend and I had a hard time coming up with a list for most important stolen bases in the history of MLB, Dave Roberts stolen base in game four of the ALCS in 2003 was the only one we could think of.

With that being said here is the Lonely Island top five songs:

5. “I’m on a Boat” (feat T-Pain): TAKE A GOOD HARD LOOK AT THE ************* BOAT! I am partial to this song because the line referenced above played right as my friends and I drove by two little kids with their parents, were pretty sure the parents were a bit pissed at us. This song also solidified the group as more than just a one hit wonder, T-Pain’s auto tuned voice and dreadlocks also gave the all white group a little street cred.

4. “The Creep” (feat Nicki Minaj): “The Creep” was quite popular in the newsroom for a time, as we got our “arms T-Rexin” form down pretty quickly. Nicki Minaj cameo as a creepy girl who enjoyed checking out the naked boys in the locker room was well played. Having a series of pictures of Palomar College President Deegan doing what looked like the creep at a board meeting was also priceless.  

3. “I just had Sex” (feat Akon): Blake Lively and Jessica Alba were in the video. Enough said. 

2. “Jack Sparrow” (feat Michael Bolton): Watch the video and you will understand. It would have been number one if Lonely Islands first song wasn’t so awesome. 

1. “Jizz in my Pants”: 105 MILLION (no, that’s not an error) views on youtube gives a video a huge boost in the landscape of pop culture. And being the groups first song they produced it is one of the most popular and funny. After all there is never a time that the releasing of bodily fluids is not funny. Never. Justin Timberlake made the first of many cameos in Jizz in Pants and because of the groups willingness to make a song about absolutely anything set the stage for the subsequent videos.
